MoRAC holds 61st Maha degree convocation

Union Minister U Ko Ko and the congregation observe the Five Precepts at the convocation yesterday.

The 61st convocation was held by the Department of Religious Affairs of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture at the Maha Pasana Cave in Thiri Mingala Kaba Aye hill in Yangon yesterday afternoon.
Chairman of the State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee Presiding Nayaka of Bhamo Monastery in Mandalay Abhidhaja Maha Rattha Guru Abhidhaja Agga Maha Saddhamma Jotika Dr Bhaddanta Kumara Bhivamsa Bhamo Sayadaw, monks who passed the exam, Union Minister U Ko Ko, Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein and wife, the Yangon regional government ministers, officials and invitees attended the ceremony.
The congregation took the Five Precepts from the State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee Chairman.
Afterwards, the Union minister, the chief minister and ministers of Yangon Region, the director-general of the Department of Religious Affairs and officials conferred certificates to 269 monks, 30 nuns and nine laymen. — MNA/KZW
