MoFA, MoIC Union Ministers virtually meet officials of embassies, consul office in Asia zone, Myanmar consul-general in LA

Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Than Swe and Union Minister for International Cooperation co-hosted a videoconferencing to meet the heads of Myanmar Embassies, Permanent Representative Offices and Consulates-General, Charge d’affaires of embassies in foreign countries, and Consul-General of Myanmar Consulate-General in LA yesterday.
First, Union Minister U Than Swe appreciated the efforts of heads of embassies who are serving the State duties on the front line. Despite the challenges of the country, they are protecting the interests of the country on the front line in foreign countries. While the State Administration Council is undertaking State responsibilities under the 2008 Constitution, it is also implementing the Five-Point Road Map and 12 Objectives. The country practises independent, active and non-aligned foreign policy.
Similarly, the government focuses on the eradication of internal armed conflicts for national solidarity and peace which is absolutely essential to the country. Moreover, the government is implementing two national tasks – the country’s prosperity and food security. The heads of embassies are responsible to carry out the activities for the governments of the countries where they are serving duties to know the accurate situation of the country. They should protect the interests of Myanmar nationals in their respective countries. They should train the staff to follow the rules and regulations.
The Union minister then called on the participants to follow the directives, not to misuse the authority, to serve their duties honestly and actively and to have mutual respect between the upper and lower levels.
Then, Union Minister U Ko Ko Hlaing highlighted the situation of the country, current political affairs, geopolitical impact on Myanmar, sharing of activities and accurate situation of the government, serving duties in unity among the embassy staff. — MNA/KTZH
