SkyNet to air new programme of comedy contest

The comedy competition programme will be broadcast on SkyNet TV channel starting in April, said Director U Ye Min Oo of Shwe Thanlwin Media Company Limited at the press lunch event which took place in Shwe Htut Tin Compound, Yangon on 16 February.
The newly aired comedy contest is intended to develop the field of comedy art, to bring forth a new generation of comedy artists, and to make the audience enjoy, he added.
As of the coming April Thingyan holiday, the competition programmes are planned to be broadcast through Free-to-Air channels – Channel 9 and SkyNet DTH channels: Myanmar Arts Channel and Hadaya Channel.
A total of 16 comedian pairs will participate in the contest and the contestants are free to come up with their own funny stories, and a censorship system will also be included.
The winning teams will get K1.5 million as the first prize, K0.5 million as the second and K0.3 million as the third. — TWA/CT
