Over K2 bln worth of drugs impounded in Yebyu township

Over K2 billion worth of stimulant tablets and Ice (methamphetamine) were captured in Yebyu township in Taninthayi Region, Myanmar Police Force stated.
According to information, a combined team consisting of members of the Anti-Drug Police Force examined a passenger bus driven by Phoe Thae accompanied by Than Htun Aung (aka) Mae Gyi, Zarni Oo (aka) Sein Thu and Myat Thu (aka) Bugyi at the Mahlwaltaung combined checkpoint in Yebyu township of Taninthayi Region at 11:30 am on 10 March.
The police seized a total of 1.3 million stimulant tablets and two kilogrammes of Ice (methamphetamine) worth over K2 billion from six plastic baskets in the bus.
After interrogation, offenders admitted that the seized drugs were to be borne from Yangon Region to Taninthayi Region.
Police took action against offenders and an investigation is underway to identify perpetrators of the crime chain. — MNA/MKKS
