MoEP Union Minister inspects power plant projects in Magway Region

Union Minister for Electric Power U Thaung Han along with ministers from Magway Region Government and responsible persons made an inspection tour of power plant projects in Magway Region on 1 April.
First, the Union minister inspected the Solar+Gas Engine Hybrid power plant project site capable of generating 120MW near Magway Township and attended the meeting on the supply of electricity in the region.
Company officials briefed the Union Minister on the project data and project implementation, and the Union minister stressed the need to generate electricity on schedule despite some difficulties in the project. Moreover, he said that in order to meet the specified quality, and if there are any difficulties, the ministry will provide necessary support.
In addition, the Union minister inspected land preparations, progress of engine foundation, arrivals of generators, completion of Construction Power site, fencing and construction of an entrance road to the project.
The project site is located on 490 acres of land near Tahbyesan Village of Magway Township. Upon completion, the power plant installed with 120 MW generating capacity will send electricity to the national grid through 132KV Magway main power station.
Afterwards, the Union minister also attended a meeting with the Magway Region chief minister and officials on power distribution in the region. — MNA/MKKS
