The action was taken under Customs procedures.
On 20 April, an inspection team led by a police officer from Nyaungkhashay Police Station examined five vehicles near the Nyaungkhashay X-Ray checkpoint and captured 18 kinds of goods (including 337 110-V used refrigerators) worth K73,874,600 without official documents from five vehicles (estimated value of K122 million). The action was taken under Customs procedures.
In addition, an inspection team led by a police officer from Phayagyi Police Station examined a vehicle and seized four kinds of foodstuffs and consumer goods and agricultural material worth K37.89 million from a vehicle (approximately K32 million). The action was taken under Customs procedures.
Similarly, a total of 115.770 tonnes of illegal timbers worth K5,952,820 was seized in Myitkyina township on 20 April. The action was taken under the Forest Law.
On 21 April, an on-duty team at the Thanlwin Bridge combined checkpoint nabbed two kinds of goods (including 65 cartons of Chang beer) worth K2 million without official documents from a vehicle (estimated value of K10 million). The action was taken under Customs procedures.
On the same day, an on-duty team conducted inspections and captured six kinds of goods (including foodstuffs and consumer goods) worth K12.675 million at the Yadanabon combined checkpoint in Sagaing township. The action was taken under the Export and Import Law. On 22 April, an unregistered Honda Fit vehicle (approximately K3.5 million) was captured in Lanmadaw township of Yangon West District and action was taken under relevant procedures.
