Naval vessels transport relief items to Rakhine State

A 29-metre landing craft of Tatmadaw (Navy) carrying relief supplies left for Rathedaung Township in Rakhine State from Yaychanpyin estuary and arrived at its destination on the morning of 19 May.
Moreover, another two 29-metre landing crafts loading with relief items also arrived at Rathedaung Township via Yaychanpyin from Sittway Township on the same morning.
The relief supplies included tents, clothes, towels, soaps, school uniforms for children, diesel, petroleum, water purification trucks, water trucks, tent-related items and other materials. These supplies were provided by the National Disaster Management Committee, Supply and Transport Battalion and Office of Commander-in-Chief (Army).
Plans are underway to distribute the items to cyclone victims as quickly as possible. — MNA/KTZH
