A 29-metre landing craft from the Tatmadaw (Navy) carrying 1,000 sacks of rice weighing 50 tonnes and a 56-metre landing craft from the Tatmadaw (Navy) carrying 1,003 planks weighing 10.07 tonnes left for Sittway via Taungup Port yesterday.
Similarly, the vessel MV Charities (245 feet in length, 64 feet wide) with a total capacity of 3,500 metric tonnes, owned by Thuriya Sanda Win Company, docked at Bo Aung Kyaw Jetty, Botahtaung Township, Yangon Region, transported relief items, foodstuffs, clothes, utensils and equipment weighing 2,511 tonnes donated by Tatmadaw (Army, Navy, and Air) family members, ministries, departmental officials, and well-wishers for Rakhine State’s storm-victims to Sittway via Yangon yesterday.
The military vessels and MV Charities owned by Thuriya Sanda Win Company will hand over the support and relief materials to officials and systematically distribute them to the people affected by the storm as soon as possible. — MNA/KZL
