Four Myanmar films have been submitted to show at three-day Colombo-ASEAN film festival scheduled to convene in the second week of September in Colombo, Sri Lanka, according to U Chan Thar Kyi Soe, the information officer of the International Relations Committee under the Myanmar Motion Picture Organization.
The Film Promotion Division selected an English sub-titled movie called “Saung Nilay Tahtae” (A Red Blanket) directed by film Director Tin Aung Soe (Panmyotaw) and three short films — “The Beauty of San Yit Wine” (The Beauty of a Round Hairdo), “Manet Phyan” (Tomorrow) and “Kyuntaw Luhwetlaik Pyi” (I Have Converted to a Layman Life) — for the festival, he said. “We have submitted the four films online. The organizers will show the submitted films during the festival,” said U Chan Thar Kyi Soe.
Films made in Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and Viet Nam are also scheduled to be shown during the festival convened to exchange cultural values between ASEAN nations. — ASH/TH
