The joint team managed by the Kayin State Illegal Trade Eradication Task Force captured four vehicles and two trailers (approximately worth K230 million), heading to Yangon from Myawady, carrying six types of goods worth K73.2 million, including 1,000 kilogrammes of Golden Mountain oyster sauce and 36,000 packs of Lactasoy soy milk that exceeded the Import Declaration (ID), near Kamawkasin village in Hpa-an township on 26 November. The action was taken under Customs procedures.
During the inspections on 27 November, the combined on-duty teams confiscated an unregistered JN tractor (estimated value of K1.5 million) in Paungde township, a total of 0.878 tonne of illegal teak and 3.276 tonnes of other illegal timers in Bago and Toungoo districts and an Isuzu Giga truck, a Mitsubishi Fuso tractor head with a trailer (approximately worth K86 million) carrying 15,000 kilogrammes of Power cable and 100 Bridgestone tubeless tyres valued at K245 million without official documents near the Myitnge Bridge on the outskirts of Mandalay. The action was conducted under Custom procedures, the Export and Import Law, and the Forest Law.
Sixteen arrests were made on 26 and 27 November, with an estimated value of K636,771,306, as reported by the Illegal Trade Eradication Steering Committee. — MNA/MKKS
