Andaman Sea Alert: Potential cyclone brewing in low-pressure zone

A low-pressure area emerged between the southern Andaman Sea and the Malacca Strait could grow into a cyclonic storm by 2 December, warns the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology.
As of 12:30 pm today, observations suggested that the low-pressure area moved westward and remained in the southern Andaman Sea. It could develop into a well-marked low-pressure area on 29 November and move west to northwestern.
Subsequently, it might evolve into a depression in the southeastern Bay of Bengal by 30 November, continuing its path in a northwestern direction before potentially developing into a cyclonic storm by 2 December, according to the department’s announcement.
The announcement further predicted a period of thick morning fog in states and regions including Nay Pyi Taw, lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyawady, Taninthayi, Rakhine, Kayah, and Kayin from 5 to 15 December.
The foggy condition could extend to the upper Sagaing Region, Kachin, Shan, Chin, and Mon states from 16 to 25 December.
Night temperatures in Yangon, Taninthayi, Kachin, northern and eastern Shan, Chin, Kayin, and Mon are forecast to hover around December’s average. In contrast, Nay Pyi Taw, the Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Ayeyawady, Shan (South), Rakhine, and Kayah could experience temperatures 1.5 degrees Celsius higher than December’s average. — TWA/NT
