Commodities transported to Yangon, Bhamo and other cities by 117 vessels in Jan

In January 2024, commodities were transported to Yangon, Bhamo and other cities by 117 vessels from Mandalay port, according to the Department of Marine Administration (Mandalay Region).
The 117 vessels from Mandalay port transported 46,341.86 tonnes of cement, 59,807.7 tonnes of corn, 500 pebble pits, 470 slices of tile, 103.5 tonnes of salt and 9,469.3 tonnes of sugar to various locations last month.
Due to the current increase in cargo at Mandalay port, the department has issued a direction not to load more than the specified tonnage of the vessels.
“Vessel operators need to consult with the navigational signs erected in the water and onshore to ensure safety,” said an official from the Department of Marine Administration (Mandalay Region). — TWA/TKO
