K3 billion worth of stimulant tablets seized in Kyaikto township

A total of 1.5 million stimulant tablets valued at K3 billion were seized in Kyaikto Township, as reported by the Myanmar Police Force.
Acting on a tip-off, a combined team, including members of the Anti-Drug Police Force, conducted a search of a Hyundai minibus travelling from DaikU to Hpa-an, driven by Khaing Zaw Tun accompanied by Naing Zaw and Nanda Tun, near Mayanchaung village in Kyaikto Township at 10:30 am on 15 February. Police seized 1.5 million stimulant tablets.
After interrogation, police arrested Zaw Myo Naing (aka) Danyin, who had the drugs carried, at his house in DaikU Township at 4 am on 16 February. A Hyundai Grace was also confiscated.
The perpetrator confessed that the seized drugs were to be transported from Shan State to Kayin State through DaikU Township in Bago Region.
Legal proceedings have been initiated against the offenders, and an ongoing investigation is underway to apprehend others involved in the case. — MNA/MKKS
