Taungthaman Lake, U Bein Bridge and the area of Madhuca plants are upgraded and open to public aiming at attracting more travellers, and the sites are crowded with visitors from across the nation.
These three significant areas are located in Amarapura Township of Mandalay and also symbols of Mandalay Region. Therefore, the officials upgraded Madhuca plants’ area near Taungthaman Lake to beautify the surrounding areas and to be perfect with signatures of resorts and also aim to support the inbound and outbound tourism sectors and socioeconomic development.
Regarding Madhuca plants’ area near Taungthaman Lake upgrade work, Mandalay Mayor U Kyaw Hsan said, “This place was not neat and tidy in the past, and it was inappropriate when the visitors come here. The rows of Madhuca plants were also full of rubbish. No one can go there. Therefore, we discussed making the place clean. Now, it is a good place to take a rest. Those who come here are also surprised, as the scene they see is totally different from the old one. Some of the people share the photos of U Bein bridge and the rows of Madhuca plants near Taungthaman Lake on social network. I want to invite all to pay a visit to Taungthaman Lake, U Bein bridge and rows of Madhuca plants.”
Moreover, the resort boasts souvenir shops and traditional food stalls, and so the visitors can buy local handicrafts and enjoy the local food.
A visitor to the rows of Madhuca plants near Taungthaman Lake said, “I visited only U Bein bridge in Amarapura previously. Even though I knew about the rows of Madhuca plants, I did not go there as it was weak in cleanliness. Now, I visit the rows of Madhuca plants near Taungthaman Lake as I hear that the place is clean. Before I arrived here, I though it would not have anything unusual. But, I was very surprised when I saw the view. I would like to thank the officials who made efforts to beautify and decorate the place ensuring its cleanliness. My family is very happy to visit here. Therefore, I want to urge to visit here.”
