Preparations underway to organize walking Thingyan festival, and water throwing pandals on Maha Bandoola Park Street.

Deputy Director-General of Public Relations and Information Department Dr Toe Aung said that preparations are underway for the 1385 ME walking Thingyan Festival at the People’s Square in Dagon Township, Yangon.
The preparations began on 18 March, and construction of the pandals for water dousing and charity meals donations is also underway.
“The Yangon Region government and YCDC are coordinating this walking Thingyan festival. We are overseeing the dousing water and charity meal pavilions, performances, and shops, providing the public with a convenient location to enjoy water festivities and food. The People’s Square is a renowned venue, and we are organizing the Thingyan festival to ensure the public can celebrate safely,” stated by Dr Toe Aung.
All preparations are well underway, and attendees will be entertained by lively performances from film, theatrical, and music associations, as well as 68 traditional Thingyan dance troupes, from 8 am to 9 pm. — ASH/TRKM
