The Ministry of Information has requested the respective song owners to allow free use of their copyrighted songs during the Thingyan festival.
According to reports, the Myanmar traditional Thingyan festival in 2024 will be celebrated according to the customs and traditions of previous years. State organizations, ministries, state and regional governments, and departments will perform traditional Thingyan performances, including singing and dancing, during the festival.
Furthermore, Myanma Radio and Television will broadcast Thingyan performance programmes freely, covering both the walking Thingyan festival in Nay Pyi Taw and the City Hall Central Pavilions.
Hence, these performances and broadcasts are not for personal financial benefit but for public entertainment, and song owners and professionals are kindly requested to allow the unrestricted use of copyrighted songs. — TWA/TRKM
