Agri Dept initiates training on packaging of fruits, vegetables

The training on the packaging of fruits and vegetables is in action.

The Department of Agriculture is conducting a course on the packaging of fruits and vegetables in Wetwun Zaygon village in PyinOoLwin Township, Mandalay Region, from 25 July to 27 July 2022.
The training course supported by the Mekong-Lancang Cooperation Special Fund aims to increase knowledge on packaging fruits and vegetables and packaging technology, physiology of perishable crops, packaging and labelling, systematic transport and applications of research findings. These topics are taught by agriculturists to local farmers.
The Post-harvest Technology Training Centre under the Department of Horticulture and Biotechnology, Department of Agriculture is implementing the project: “Packaging of fruits and vegetables to maintain the quality and extend the shelf life” in order to improve the situation and reduce post-harvest losses.
As a consequence, the programme can help farmers understand the suitable packaging of fruits and vegetables and the ways to pack products safely. — GNLM
