Artistes meet people in Cyclone Mocha-hit Sittway

Artistes are seen providing foodstuffs and relief items to storm victims in Sittway yesterday.

A team of artistes from the Myanmar Motion Picture Organization and the Myanmar Music Association (Central) yesterday morning arrived in Sittway, Rakhine State, which was devastated by Cyclone Mocha, to encourage and support the local residents.
Rakhine State Ethnic Affairs Minister U Tin Hla and members of the Sittway District administration body and officials welcomed the artistes at the airport.
The group expressed warm greetings to the local people who took shelter in the Alotawpyae Monastery Rescue Camp and Maniyadana Monastery Rescue Camp and Kyaytawpeikseik Village Cyclone Shelter Building in Sittway.
Next, they handed over the medical supplies and dry food donated by Sayadaw Ashin Cekinda to the local people.
In the afternoon, they attended a ceremony to provide relief materials and food to people affected by natural disasters at the Sasana Beikmantaw building in Sittway.
The team of artistes has a total of 45 members. — State IRPD/KZL
