The seven new tours include the Kyaukmyathmaw tour in the Bagan Ancient Cultural Zone, a trip to the rocky lake on Thetsoe Mountain in the southeast of NyaungU Township, a visit to the 900-year-old tamarind tree in Zee-O-Hla Village, exploration of the 21-acre Sal Forest conserved by the Forest Department, a tour of Setsetyo Village in NyaungU Township, which preserves Myanmar traditional hairstyles called Yaungpaysu for boys and Sanyitwine for girls (top-knot with a circular fringe), a visit to Yotesone Monastery in Thepyintaw village, located about 16 miles from the NyaungU-Kyaukpadaung road, a tour of Gemoe Pond in Legwa and Latpanaing villages in Kyaukpadaung Township and the Mount Popa Tour, situated approximately 11 miles northeast of Kyaukpadaung Township.
Additionally, visitors can explore utensils from the Bagan era at the Bagan Ancient National Museum. The museum features stone inscriptions from the Bagan period, standing Buddha statues, seated Buddha statues, votive tablets, four-edged daggers, and various weapons used by kings during the Bagan era. The NyaungU District Directorate of Hotels & Tourism has also developed hills for viewing the breathtaking beauty of Bagan’s sunrise and sunset. — TWA/CT
