Ceremony to hoist diamond bud and golden umbrella at Bopanta Hill Mahavamsa Bodh Gaya held in Taunggyi

The consecration ceremony and mounting of the diamond bud and golden umbrella at the top of the Bopanta Hill Mahavamsa Bodh Gaya in Pa-O Self-Administered Zone in special region (6) of Taunggyi Township of Shan State (South) yesterday.
After the ceremonial procedures, the participants including Pa-O national leader U Aung Khan Htee took nine precepts from State Ovadacariya Sayadaw Agga Maha Pandita Bhaddanta Pannyasiri of Mula Mingun Monastery in Taunggyi Township.
Then, the SAC Member U Khun San Lwin and Shan State Chief Minister U Aung Zaw Aye presented the diamond bud to Sayadaws and the Shan State chief justice, state ministers, the state advocate-general, the secretary of the state cabinet, the chairman of the Pa-O Self-Administered Zone and donors presented the golden umbrella and other materials to other Sayadaws.
Afterwards, they listened to the sermons delivered by Presiding Sayadaw of the Mula Mingun Monastery and shared merits.
The SAC member, the Shan State chief minister and officials conveyed the diamond bud and golden umbrella going round the Mahavamsa Bodh Gaya pagoda clockwise for one time and hoisted the diamond bud and golden umbrella to the pagoda. — Maung Maung Than (Taunggyi)/KTZH
