Course opened for Establishment of Myanmar ICT Development Institute Project

The opening ceremony of the Microsoft Azure DevOps Expert Course (AZ-400) and Microsoft Azure Security Technologies Courses (AZ-500) for the establishment of the Myanmar ICT Development Institute project to be implemented by Mekong-Lancang Cooperation Special Fund 2018, headed by Information and Communication Technology Research Department, Research and Innovation Department, Ministry of Science and Technology was held at 9:30 am yesterday.
Union Minister for Science and Technology Dr Myo Thein Kyaw, Minister Counselor Madam Li Xiao Yan of the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Myanmar and Vice-Chairman of the Mekong-Lancang Cooperation National Coordination Unit (MLC NCU (Myanmar), Deputy Director-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs U Win Zeyar Tun addressed the ceremony.
Union Minister Dr Myo Thein Kyaw said that the Mekong-Lancang Cooperation Project is effective cooperation for the countries in the Mekong region.
By providing training, it will be possible to develop the cloud computing technologies required by the current ICT business and produce more ready-to-work IT professionals, the Union minister continued.
“Trainees from Mekong countries such as Cambodia, China, Laos, Thailand and Viet Nam will learn how the latest cloud computing technologies work on private servers.
“It will benefit the development of the economy in the respective countries, national research, education, and health sectors, and enhance cooperation between Myanmar and the Mekong-Lancang region, which will contribute to the development of Myanmar’s ICT sector,” the Union minister added.
Fourteen trainees from Laos, Thailand and China and 39 trainees from universities under the Ministry of Science and Technology attended the course.
Virtual training will be taught online for foreign trainees and on-site for local trainees. The training period will be from 10 to 25 February. —MNA
