A combined team consisting of MPF members searched a Dong Feng fuel bowser which was stopped in front of the Bamboo strip Buddha image in PyinOoLwin township at 6:30 am on 20 June.
They seized 28.6 kilogrammes of heroin and 480,000 stimulant tablets worth K1.435 billion. The driver was missing.
On 21 June at 11:15 am, Police examined a Toyota Corolla Fielder car driven by Myint Thein (aka) Ganay (aka) Thargyi accompanied by Aye Hlaing (aka) Soe Win in Dagon Myo Thit (North) township and captured 10,000 stimulant tablets.
According to the investigation, 260,000 more stimulant tablets worth K270 million were captured in a house of Myint Thein (aka) Ganay (aka) Thargyi in Dagon Myothit (North) township at 3 pm.
In addition, at 12:20 pm on the same day, Police stopped and examined a Hyundai Starex car driven by Kyaw Lin Htun on the Ywangan-Hanmyintmo Road in Ywangan township and captured K175 million worth 350,000 stimulant tablets.
The suspects were prosecuted under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law, the MPF stated. — MNA
