Drugs seized in Waw, Kunhing Townships

A joint team comprising members of the Anti-Drug Police Force conducted a search of a Toyota Crown vehicle driven by Shauk Kwar and accompanied by Shauk Wain at the combined checkpoint in Tarkaw village, Kunhing township, around 3 pm on 7 August. The search resulted in the seizure of 17 blocks of heroin and 5.95 kilogrammes of the same substance.
Furthermore, law enforcement officials halted and inspected an express passenger bus operated by Kaung Myat Thaw and accompanied by Kyaw Zaw Hein (aka) Kyaw Gyi and Nyein Chan at the Nyaungkhashay x-ray checkpoint at approximately 9:30 pm on 6 August. This operation led to the confiscation of 292,500 stimulant tablets.
Following thorough questioning, the police apprehended Aung Aung (aka) U Aung, who was involved in the drug trafficking activity at the bus station in Taunggyi township around 11 pm.
Individuals involved in these incidents have been charged under the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Law. — MNA/MKKS
