Electrification, lifeblood of production, living standard of the people

Supply of electricity to the State and no shortage of fuel are the primary duty of the Ministry of Electricity and Energy, said Union Minister for Electricity and Energy U Aung Than Oo in meeting with service personnel from Htaukshabin, Kani and Mann oil fields and those of Petrochemical Industries (Thanbayagan) in Minhla Township of Magway Region recently.
Electricity is essential for the country so as to carry out nation-building tasks day and night. Lighting from electricity can remove the darkness of the world, contributing towards the improvement of the living standard of the people.
Electrification is the main drive for operating industries as well as an important tool for broadening the horizon of the people. In fact, the supply of electricity is directly benefiting Myanmar society.
The Union minister stressed the need to continuously perform maintenance and inspection of power cables and sub-power stations not to cause the breakdown of power supply while making strenuous efforts to install power cables and construction of sub-power stations in time.
In the future, it is necessary to emphasize the creation of job opportunities for Myanmar citizens. To be able to do so, businesspersons need to establish more and more factories. But, a plan must be adopted for the supply of electricity to operate these factories at full capacity.
Only when various kinds of factories owned by both government and private sectors can operate their production will the country improve with high gross domestic product-GDP. In consequence, all the people can enjoy higher living standard.

According to the Ministry of Electricity and Energy, relevant service organizations will give better services to the people to install workplace and household used electric meters in a quick process. Hence, the development gap between urban and rural areas can be narrowed in a few years.
Thanks to the supply of electricity, industries mushrooming across the nation can easily manufacture an increased volume of products for earning foreign exchange not only for the State but also for themselves. Such income obtained from exportation can partially be spent on the modernization of the electrification system in implementing the 30-year National Electrification Plan.
Hence, all the people, including businesspersons, need to contribute towards the successful implementation of electrification projects for all.
