Handover ceremony of Chinese Government’s contribution of 2 mln COVID-19 vaccines to ASEAN for Myanmar held in Yangon

The Chinese ambassador presents two million vaccines contribution to the special envoy of the ASEAN Chair and the ASEAN's deputy secretary-general yesterday.

The handover ceremony of the Chinese Government’s contribution of COVID-19 vaccines to ASEAN for Myanmar to the special envoy of ASEAN Chair on Myanmar was held at the residence of the Chinese ambassador to Myanmar in Yangon yesterday.
First, Chinese Ambassador Mr Chen Hai explained the donation of two million doses of vaccine to Myanmar.
Then, Deputy Secretary-General of ASEAN Mr Ekkaphab Phanthavong clarified the COVID-19 vaccination and the current infection rate of the ASEAN countries. Special Envoy of the alternate ASEAN Chair on Myanmar Mr Prak Sokhonn, Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Minister expressed thanks to the Chinese government for donating COVID-19 vaccines.
After that, the Chinese ambassador handed over two million doses of vaccine to the ASEAN’s Deputy Secretary-General and the Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. The ceremony was attended by the ASEAN’s Deputy Secretary-General, the delegation led by the Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the MoH deputy minister, officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Chinese ambassador, the Cambodian ambassador to Myanmar, counsellors of the EU and ASEAN countries’ embassies and representatives of Yangon-based MRCS, WFP, WHO and UNDP. — MNA
