Illegal teaks, foodstuff, and vehicles seized on 29 April, 1 May

Under the supervision of the Anti-Illegal Trade Steering Committee, effective action is being taken to prevent illegal trade in accordance with the law.
Officials from Taunggyi Township Customs Department under the management of Anti-Illegal Trade Task Force inspected two trucks leaving Tachileik for Mandalay near 4th-Mile Forestry Joint Checkpoint, on 29 April.
Bags of dried chilies without official documents, Full Moon Wine and motorcycles estimated at K40.678 million, one Nissan Diesel 12-wheeler truck and one Isuzu 6-wheeler truck estimated at K50 million were seized and action is being taken in accordance with customs procedures.
Similarly, a combined inspection team led by Hmawby Township Forest Department conducted the inspection in Yangon Region under the management of the Anti-Illegal Trade Task Force.
During the inspection 0.6056 tonne of illegal teak furniture pieces estimated at K181,680 and one TOYOTA PROBOX 4 wheeler carrying vehicle estimated at K15 million totally amounting to K15,181,680 were seized near Letpadansu village, Hmawby Township, Yangon North District, and action is being taken in accordance with the forest law.
Similarly, an investigation team led by the Myanmar Police Force conducted an investigation under the management of the Anti-Illegal Trade Task Force in Sagaing Region on 1 May.
In Monywa Township, 430 barrels of unlicensed diesel estimated at K135.45 million were seized and action is being taken in accordance with the Oil and Oil Products Law.
In addition, a combined inspection team led by Bago Region Forest Department conducted the inspection under the management of the Anti-Illegal Trade Task Force in Bago Region.
A total of 1.9292 tonnes of illegal sawn ironwood timber estimated at K385,840 were seized in the Aingtonkun forest reserve and action is being taken in accordance with the forest law.
Thus, a total of 15 arrests with seizures worth approximately K241,695,520 were made on 29 April and 1 May according to the Anti-Illegal Trade Steering Committee.—MNA
