IPRD celebrates 33rd Anniversary

The 33rd Anniversary of the Information and Public Relations Department (IPRD) was held at the Ministry of Information in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
Union Minister for Information U Maung Maung Ohn, Deputy Minister U Ye Tint, Permanent Secretary U Myo Myint Maung, heads of department, heads of region and state head offices, outstanding employees who won awards in competitions and training courses , other officials in person, and deputy directors from district offices via online attended the ceremony.
First, the documentary video “Unity and Friendship” was introduced to the audience at the event.
In his speech, the Union minister said the IPRD can stand tall due to the unity among the leading personnel and the staff serving their responsibilities dutifully.
The IPRD is a vast network comprising 435 offices in regions, states, districts and townships, serving the three main tasks of the Ministry of Information – to inform, to educate and to entertain.
Similarly, the department actively participated in national-level ceremonies. Moreover, it distributes text messages and television news through social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Telegram, the MOI website, the MOI application, and MTube for the public to receive trustworthy information.
Moreover, the relevant IPRD offices spread the news regarding regional development activities, government announcements, and other educational programmes on their Facebook pages.
The Union minister also talked about upgrading community centres, the guidance of the Head of State in holding awareness programmes and youth talk shows across the nation and launching training courses, including capacity-building training.
Then, he presented the appointment letters for the promotion to director positions.
Then, the permanent secretary and departmental officials presented excellent performance awards and cash awards to outstanding personnel in the region, township-level management, civil servants, social affairs, short story and article competitions, photo competitions and so on.
The deputy minister presented the first, second, and third prizes and special prizes of district-level news coverage awards to the district offices.
Then, the Union minister awarded the excellent work performance prizes to the township-level, district-level, region and state-level offices.
The Union minister had a documentary photo taken with the relevant officials and awardees and enjoyed lunch with them. — MNA/KTZH
