MoNREC Union Minister attends 2nd International Tiger Conservation Forum in Russian Federation

The second International Tiger Conservation Forum is in progress.

While accompanying the high-level delegation led by SAC Chairman Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing to the Russian Federation, Union Minister U Khin Maung Yi of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation, along with Director-General U Htay Aung of the Forest Department, attended the 2nd International Tiger Conservation Forum held on the FEFU Campus in Vladivostok of the Russian Federation yesterday.
The Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation launched the second International Tiger Conservation Forum and officials from 14 countries took part in the event. Four Union Ministers signed on postage stamps to mark the ceremony and viewed the displayed booths.
President Vladimir Putin of the Russian Federation delivered the opening remark at the preliminary forum.
In his discussion, the Union minister underscored the condition of tiger conservation in Myanmar, the expansion of conservation areas including the habitat of tigers, the recorded numbers of tiger population in Myanmar in 2021-2022, the spending of funds on the habitat restoration programme for wildlife animals, the 2020-2025 plan for the conservation of tiger population in Myanmar, cooperation with local and foreign organizations, expected results from the undertakings in line with the global tiger recovery programme and future plans.
Minister of Natural Resources and Environment of the Russian Federation Mr Alexander Kozlov gave concluding remarks and the forum ended in the evening. — MNA
