Most of the hotel rooms at Chaungtha and Ngwehsaung beaches were packed with bookings for the Thingyan holidays, according to some hotels.
Hotel rooms for the period from 13 to 16 April have been booked, and there are only a few rooms left, some hotels said.
Popular destinations include beaches like Chaungtha and Ngwehsaung, recently trending Ngwetaung beach, Kyaukkalat beach, and famous attractive sites such as Bagan, Inlay and Taunggyi, while there are some outbound travels.
“No room is available for 13-14 April. Some are available for 15 and 16. It is a two-minute walk from the room to the beach. A double room with aircon costs K120,000 and can accommodate three people. A triple room at K150,000 can accommodate four people,” said a service provider for renting hotels in Ngwehsaung.
Public interest in visiting Chaungtha and Ngwehsaung beaches together with other trips during Thingyan has been increasing.
“Demand for Chaungtha and Ngwehsaung in Thingyan is rising a lot. We are selling many tour packages to these places, and people are going. There are some arrangements for other trips to Mandalay and Bagan. Interest in buying tickets is growing. So, popular places for local visits include Bagan, Mandalay, Kalaw, Pindaya, and Inlay in Shan State. We expect local tourism of these areas to be well-developed with many tourists,” said Myanmar Tourism Entrepreneurs Association chair U Naung Naung Han. — MT/ZN/Ed
