Myanmar, India to forge friendly ties, deepen defence cooperation

Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing received Mr Vinay Kumar, Indian Ambassador to Myanmar, who will return to India after completing his tour of duty in Myanmar at the SAC Chairman’s office in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
At the meeting, they cordially discussed matters pertaining to bilateral relations, cooperation in trade, economic and investment sectors, cotton production, pharmaceutical manufacturing, promotion of military cooperation between two countries, health assistance for Myanmar Tatmadaw and people, fostering peace and stability in border areas, remarkable progress of Myanmar on its path to democracy and preparations for successful holding of a free and fair election.
Also present at the meeting were Council Joint Secretary Lt-Gen Ye Win Oo, Deputy Prime Minister Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Than Swe and officials. — MNA/KTZH
