Myanmar team to prepare for remaining World Cup Qualifiers

Myanmar men’s national football team will prepare for the two remaining qualifiers of the 2022 World Cup and the 2023 AFC Asian Cup, which will be played in June.The team will have almost two weeks to prepare as the qualifiers will be played on 11 and 15 June.
The remaining qualifiers are crucial for team Myanmar to advance to the following stages. In Group F, which includes Myanmar, Japan is guaranteed to win the group with 18 points from 6 matches with two games remaining. Tajikistan has 10 points from 6 matches, and Kyrgyzstan has seven points from five games. Next, Myanmar has scored 6 points in 6 games, and Mongolia has three points from seven games. There are five matches left in Group F.
On 7 June, Kyrgyzstan will take on Mongolia, and Japan will face Tajikistan.Myanmar will play against Kyrgyzstan on 11 June and Tajikistan on 15 June, respectively. Japan will also meet Kyrgyzstan on 15 June. With just six points from six games, Myanmar needs to win the next two games to secure a top position.
The second round qualifiers are being held in eight groups. A total of 12 teams will advance to the third round of the 2022 World Cup Qualifiers and 2023 Asian Cup qualification. The Myanmar national team has already played against the Japan team in Chiba, so the other two matches will be played in Osaka and will leave for Osaka in the coming days. — Ko Nyi Lay/ GNLM
