Myanmar to face MSAR in second leg of World Cup qualifier today

Myanmar will play against Macau in the second leg of the first-round qualifiers in the Asian Zone of the 2026 World Cup at the Olympic Sports Centre Stadium in Macau at 6 pm Myanmar standard time on 17 October (today).
Due to threshing its opponent with a 5-1 result in the first leg held on 12 October, team Myanmar possesses a good prospect of advancing to the next stage. As the skills and talent of Myanmar are higher than Macau’s in the first leg, Myanmar has a high potential for securing a good result in the second leg.
A press conference on the second leg of the qualifier between Myanmar and Macau took place on 16 October. German Michael Feichtenbeiner, head coach of the Myanmar national football team, unveiled, “We would like to win over the opponent in the away match similar to the home match. So, we will translate all chances to secure the victory. We have no plan to play the defensive style but will pour our efforts into competing with Macau in full swing. Although we won over Macau in the first leg, the letter is capable of competing with us.”
Myanmar’s midfielder Kyaw Min Oo remarked, “We would like to grasp a win in this match similar to the first match. We regard this match as preparation for the upcoming World Cup qualifiers. So, we will play against the opponent team with full strength and concentration.” — Ko Nyi Lay/TTA
