Myanmar to host 15th ASEAN-China People-to-People Friendship Organization Conference

The 15th ASEAN-China People-to-People Friendship Organization Conference will reportedly be held in Myanmar.
The 14th ASEAN-China People-to-People Friendship Organization Conference of this year took place in Penang, Malaysia, from 3 to 6 September, and chairmen and representatives of friendship associations from 10 ASEAN countries, officials from China, foreign countries and friendship associations, China-ASEAN organization officials, responsible persons from Malaysia, and Myanmar representatives from the Myanmar-China Friendship Association-(Central) participated in the occasion.
At the ceremony, the ASEAN-China People-to-People Friendship Organization Flag was handed over to Myanmar, which will be the host country for 2025.
Measures to strengthen ASEAN-China cooperation, the exchange of views on the promotion of highly cooperative efforts against the COVID-19 epidemic, strengthening the friendship between the people of ASEAN and China, the promotion of joint ventures in emerging industries, and ASEAN-China bilateral quality development issues were discussed at the conference.
In addition, six joint statements were also issued at the conference, and it was announced to promote people-to-people friendship based on the existing ASEAN-China mechanism, strengthen cooperation activities between 10 ASEAN countries, and nourish traditional and new mechanisms in the fields of health, education, culture, and media industries through the collaboration of young professionals.
The statement also mentioned promoting the achievement of win-win results in mutual cooperation, coordinating economic and ecological exchanges between different markets using regional industries and economic and social cooperation in developing the Belt and Road Initiative, and developing regions for the well-being of residents through practical cooperation in economic and social sectors by building sister cities. — TWA/CT
