Over K830 mln worth of stimulant tablets, Ice captured in Yangon Region

Three offenders are seen along with seized drugs and motorbikes.

A total of 757,000 stimulant tablets and three kilogrammes of Ice (Methamphetamine) worth over K830 million were captured in Yangon Region, Myanmar Police Force stated.
Acting on a tip-off, a combined team consisting of members of the Anti-Drug Police Force searched two motorbikes driven by Htoo Khant Naung, Pyae sone Kyaw Min and Hein Khin Zaw at the junction of Lower Mingaladon Raod and Pyidawtha 1 road in Insein township at 7 pm on 16 June. A total of 467,000 stimulant tablets were seized from them.
Moreover, the Police Force captured another 290,000 stimulant tablets and 3 kilogrammes of Ice (Methamphetamine) from a man called Pyae Sone Kyaw Min who lived in a rented house in Ward (8/4) in Shwepyitha township at 1 am on 17 June.
It is learnt that the drugs were to be sold to the youths who frequented the KTV, clubs, bars and restaurants in Yangon.
Police have taken legal action against the offenders and an ongoing investigation is being conducted to identify the persons involved. — MNA/MKKS
