Myanmar’s female novelist and writer, Ponnya Khin, has announced that her novel, ‘Time to Wait for Blooming Flowers’, will be translated and published by Lijiang Publishing House from the People’s Republic of China, with plans for global distribution.
It has been revealed that Ponnya Khin and Lijiang Publishing House have already signed an agreement.
“Lijiang Publishing House contacted me in 2022, expressing their intention to translate and publish my novel. After numerous discussions and negotiations over a year, we signed an agreement on 6 December. Daw Nwet Kabya, the third secretary of the Chinese Embassy, represented Lijiang Publishing House in our discussions,” she explained.
Lijiang Publishing House is a prominent publishing agency in mainland China providing books in both Chinese and foreign languages. In 2013, the publishing house earned recognition by being listed among the top 10 literature and art publishing houses in China and among the top 100 Chinese publishing houses with worldwide influence. — ASH/ TMT
