Lt-Gen Min Naing provides relief items to storm-hit locals in Haka Township.

Chin State Chief Minister Dr Vungh Suan Thang and Lt-Gen Min Naing of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army) attended the Chin State disaster management committee meeting at the State General Administration Department on 24 May.
Lt-Gen Min Naing spoke of the need to take rehabilitation measures. Officials from relevant sectors reported on the progress of rehabilitation tasks. Lt-Gen Min Naing and officials coordinated necessary measures and presented foodstuffs for storm-hit people to an official.
Yesterday, Maj-Gen Aung Myo Tun of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army) in Rathedaung viewed round removal of fallen trees and repairing of power cables in Rathedaung and gave instructions.
In Minbya Township, Brig-Gen Khin Zaw looked into collective cleaning and rehabilitation tasks carried out by relief teams at the women’s vocational training school, the border youth development training school and No 2 Basic Education High School damaged by the storm and coordinated necessary measures.
Brig-Gen Aung Thu Oo currently in Kyauktaw inspected losses and damage at schools, hospitals, dispensaries, religious buildings and departmental buildings affected by the storm and viewed the removal of fallen trees.
Brig-Gen Kyaw Kyaw Oo also inspected the repairing of schools in Khaohnmaw village-tract destroyed by the storm. He attended the meeting with members of the township disaster management committee at the office of the Township General Administration Department and presented the fund allotted in advance by the state government and CI sheets donated by well-wishers for schools through officials. — MNA/TTA
