SAC information team holds 17th press conference

The 17th press conference of the SAC Information Team is in progress in Nay Pyi Taw.

The 17th press conference of the State Administration Council’s Information Team was held at the Ministry of Information in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday.
At the press conference, Maj-Gen Zaw Min Tun, SAC’s Information Team Leader explained the exercising of the independent, active and non-aligned foreign policy, the policy of world peace and mutual relations, the principals of the peaceful coexistence of the world countries, lasting peace and friendly relations with neighbouring countries, plans conducted under the framework and procedures of ASEAN, attendance of SAC member Union Minister for Defence General Mya Tun Oo to the 16th ADMM held in Cambodia, the holding of the 34th Myanmar-Thai Regional Border Committee meeting in Taunggyi on 28 and 29 June, the discussion of Thai delegation led by Lt-Gen Apichet Suesat with the SAC Chairman Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services in Nay Pyi Taw on 29 June, the working visit of Special Envoy of the ASEAN Chair on Myanmar Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Mr Prak Sokhonn to Myanmar, the Lancang-Mekong Cooperation-related meetings, discussions with eight EAOs between 20 May and 20 June and the coming talks with the remaining SSPP and LDU.
He also highlighted the school attendance in the 2022-2023 Academic Year, exam passing rate of the 2021-2022 matriculation examination, arrangements to hold the matriculation exam in 2023 for those who failed or did not take tests for various reasons, the reopening of universities and colleges, invitations of the government to the students who arrived in border areas and unsafe locations to continue their education.
He then widely clarified the COVID-19 cases, vaccination cases, efforts of the government not to have cooking oil shortage despite high prices in the global market, local and foreign debts, terrorist attacks of NUG and PDFs, conflicts between Shanni people, KIA and PDF terrorist groups and military operations in Ukarithta.
Union Election Commission Member U Khin Maung Oo also explained with PowerPoint presentations regarding the actions taken against those who participated in conducting voting fraud and lawless actions in the 2020 General Election, field census on voter lists including work plans of the UEC.
