SAC member attends rice offering ceremony in Sittway

Local authorities and people donate rice and alms to members of the Sangha and nuns in Sittway on 9 October.

Member of the State Administration Council Daw Aye Nu Sein accompanied by Rakhine State Chief Minister Dr Aung Kyaw Min, state ministers and departmental officials, attended the whole city rice offering ceremony at Atulamarazein Pyilonchantha Pagoda in Sittway, Rakhine State, yesterday morning.
Firstly, the SAC member and party paid homage to Atulamarazein Pyilonchantha Pagoda and offered water, flowers and oil lights to the Buddha image.
Then, the SAC member and party, charity teams and donators offered rice, soft drinks and alms to members of the Sangha and nuns. A total of 500 members of the Sangha and over 100 nuns from various monasteries and nunneries in Sittway attended to the ceremony.
This ceremony is celebrated full moon day of Thadingyut every year under the leadership of the Atulamarazein Pagoda Board of Trustees. —MNA
