According to the Minister for Economic Affairs of the Sagaing Region government, more than 130,000 travellers, both domestic and foreign, explored tour destinations in Sagaing Region in 2023. Despite challenging road conditions in some areas of the region, over 130,000 tourists visited the Sagaing, Mingun, and Monywa areas during the same period.
The report highlights the presence of over 60 hotels, motels, and guesthouses, offering a total of 2,040 rooms across 11 townships in Sagaing Region. Currently, 47 of these accommodation are in operation.
