Mon State welcomes over 1.2 mln visitors during last FY

According to the Directorate of Hotels and Tourism of Mon State, there were over 1.2 million visitors to Mon State during the previous financial year of 2023-2024.
This marked a 53 per cent increase compared to the 2022-2023 FY. Mon State boasts 63 tourist spots, with the Kyaiktiyo Pagoda being the most visited by tourists. Plans are underway in collaboration with relevant departments to develop new tourist attractions.
The most visited places in Mon State include the Kyaiktiyo Pagoda, Kyaikkhami Pagoda, and Setse Beach in Thanbyuzayat Township, as well as the Kyaikthanlan Pagoda in Mawlamyine Township, the viewpoint of Mawlamyine, Win Sein Tawya Pagoda in Mudon Township, Zinkyaik Waterfall in Paung Township, and Ywalut Village in Chaungzon Township, renowned for pipe production.
Additionally, Kyaukpachi Beach in Kadethtout Village, Thanbyuzayat Township, has been developed as a new tourist destination for this travel season. — TWA/TRKM
