Senior General Min Aung Hlaing hoists bejewelled diamond orb, pennant-shaped vane, golden umbrella atop Myodaw Hteikpan Mingala Pagoda in Pyinmana Township

A ceremony to enshrine religious objects into the upper reliquary and hoist a golden umbrella atop Myodaw Hteikpan Mingala Pagoda took place in conjunction with the consecration in the precinct of Pali Tekkatho Mingala Zeyon Monastery in Pyinmana of Nay Pyi Taw yesterday morning, graced by the presence of Nay Pyi Taw Council Area Ovadacariya Wegyi Buddhist Learning Centre in Pobbathiri Township Abhidhaja Maha Rattha Guru Bhaddanta Adiccavamsa and Presiding Patron of Pali Tekkatho Mingala Zeyon Monastery Agga Maha Pandita Agga Maha Saddhamma Jotikadhaja Bhaddanta Vimala Buddhi and members of the Sangha.
At the ceremony, Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and his wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla offered the bejewelled diamond orb, the pennant-shaped vane and religious objects dedicated to the Lord Buddha and alms to Wegyi Sayadaw. Council Joint Secretary Lt-Gen Ye Win Oo, council members and Union ministers also presented alms to members of the Sangha.
The Senior General, wife and party conveyed the bejewelled diamond orb and the pennant-shaped vane by the decorated float to the site in front of the Maha Mingala pavilion.
At the auspicious time, the Senior General opened the upper reliquary and offered oil lights. Then, he kept religious objects in the reliquary and sprayed them. The wife of the Senior General, dignitaries and attendees conveyed the bejewelled diamond orb and the pennant-shaped vane onto the pagoda by a decorated float. The Senior General and party fixed the diamond orb and the pennant-shaped vane atop the pagoda and sprinkled scent water on them.
The Senior General and his wife offered flowers, water, oil lights and golden lotus robes to the Buddha image in the southern part of the pagoda. Next, members of the Sangha consecrated the pagoda.
After the ceremony, the Senior General, wife and party offered day meals to members of the Sangha. — MNA/TTA
