Special counters opened in Magway’s hotels to showcase MSME products

Director Daw Su Su Khaing of the Department of Small-Scale Industries in Magway Region said special counters were opened to sell MSME products at hotels and motels in Magway Region so visitors could purchase local MSME products.
The purpose of opening and selling MSME products at hotels and motels in Magway Region is to develop tourism in the region and attract tourists and local visitors.
“We are selling products of MSMEs registered with the Department of Small-Scale Industries at hotels such as Pale Shweyee Hotel, Kaung Kaung Hotel, Nang Htike Thu Hotel and My Riverview Hotel in Magway. There are 1,190 MSMEs registered in our Small-Scale Industries Department.
“MSMEs local products selling there are groundnut oil, sesame oil, peanut jam, sesame jam, food products made of tamarind, cotton and coconut-based handicrafts,” said Daw Su Su Khaing.
In Magway Region, a total of 57 hotels, motels and guesthouses are operating, and nearly 1.5 million tourists visited the destinations in Magway Region from January to October 2023. During October 2023, domestic and international tourist arrivals reached 0.87 million in Magway Region. — ASH/KZL
