SPTT receives Vice-Chairman led NMSP delegation in Nay Pyi Taw

The meeting between the State Peace Talks Team and the New Mon State Party delegation is in progress.

The meeting between the State Peace Talks Team (SPTT) and the delegation led by the Vice-Chairman of the New Mon State Party (NMSP) took place at the National Solidarity and Peacemaking Centre in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday afternoon.
The State Peace Talks Team led by State Administration Council Member Union Minister at the Government Office Chairman of the National Solidarity and Peacemaking Negotiation Committee-NSPNC Peace Talks Team Leader Lt-Gen Yar Pyae warmly welcomed the delegation led by NMSP Vice-Chairman Nai Aung Min. Programmes and contents to be discussed in the meeting were negotiated by both sides and continued as planned.
The meeting was attended by State Administration Council Member Union Minister at the Government Office Chairman of the National Solidarity and Peacemaking Negotiation Committee-NSPNC Peace Talks Team Leader Lt-Gen Yar Pyae, SAC Member Lt-Gen Moe Myint Tun, NSPNC Secretary Lt-Gen Win Bo Shein and NSPNC members: Lt-Gen Min Naing and Lt-Gen Aye Win — and NMSP Vice-Chairman Nai Aung Min, Joint General Secretary of the NMSP Nai Win Hla, Central Executive Committee members Nai Banyar Lei and Nai Aung Ma Ngay, and representatives of peace talks.
At the meeting, SPTT Leader Lt-Gen Yar Pyae and NMSP Vice-Chairman Naing Aung Min gave greeting speeches and discussed proposals that both sides want to review on issues of amending fundamental sections of the 2008 Constitution to build a Union based on democracy and federalism. The first day of the meeting was adjourned after the mutual discussion of participants over their views and attitudes. The second meeting will be continued on 14 February.
The New Mon State Party (NMSP) participated in the signing of the NCA agreement along with the Lahu Democratic Union (LDU) on 13 February 2018. The NMSP delegation met with the SPTT yesterday to discuss the issues of building a Union based on democracy and federalism, which is an act of a friendly meeting on a special day. — MNA/CT
