State Administration Council holds Kathina robe-offering ceremony for 2023

Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla attended the Kathina robe-offering ceremony of the State Administration Council for 2023 at Sasana Maha Beikman in the precinct of Uppatasanti Pagoda in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday and offered Kathina robes and alms to members of the Sangha.
The Senior General and party viewed round Kathina robes and alms to be donated to Maha Wizitayon Monastery in Zabuthiri Township.
The Senior General and wife donated Kathina robes and offertories to Secretary of the State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee Presiding Patron of Thanlyin Minkyaung Pahtamabyan Buddhist Learning Centre Agga Maha Pandita Agga Maha Saddhamma Jotikadhaja Dr Bhaddanta Candima Bhivamsa, SSMNC Vice-Chairman Kyaukme Thiho Pariyatti Buddhist Learning Centre Presiding Patron Agga Maha Pandita Dr Bhaddanta Çandanasara and Abbot of Maha Wizitayon Monastery Sayadaw Bhaddanta Ñanuttara of Zabuthiri Township respectively.
The SAC Secretary, the Joint Secretary and wife, Council members and their wives, Union-level persons, Union ministers and senior military officers offered Kathina robes and alms to members of the Sangha.
Sayadaw of Ngwetaung Tawya Monastery in Tatkon and Sayadaw of Ohntaw Monastery in Pyinmana staged the question and answer session about the Kathina robe offering ceremony.
The Senior General, wife and congregation offered day meals to members of the Sangha.
Donations of 50 Padethabin (the structures decorated with currency notes) and K90,158,500 at the Kathina robe-offering ceremony of SAC for 2023 total amounted to K136,714,600. — MNA/TTA
