Woman jumps down from No 2 Kamarkyi Bridge

A woman jumped down from No 2 Kamarkyi Bridge in Thuwanna of Thingangyun Township, Yangon Region, on the morning of 24 October and search and rescue operation is being conducted.
The woman is supposed to be about 20 and she jumped into the Ngamoeyeik creek at around 9 am. A rescuer said that she may be a company employee. She left her mobile phone, a charger, an AirPod, a wallet and a black purse with some money near the place where she jumped off the bridge.
At present, the current of the creek is quite fast because it rained heavily in the morning. So, it is not easy to make underwater searches, said a member of the Thakayta rescue team.
A responsible person from the Thingangyun (B) Ward-based social organization said that the woman had not been found yet and that the Police Force and firefighters were joining the search.
Also on 14 September, a man jumped from the same bridge. — TWA/GNLM
