Myanmar club Yangon United will play an away match as the deciding match for the 2023-2024 AFC Cup ASEAN zone qualifiers.
Yangon United won the AFC Cup ASEAN zone pre-qualifiers against Brunei DPMM 2:1 and qualified for the play-off stage.
The ASEAN Zone Qualifier Play-off matches will be held on 23 August, and Indonesian club Makassar will fly in the face of Myanmar club Yangon United. Meanwhile, the Singapore club Tampanis Rovers will go up against the Cambodian club Phnom Penh Crowns.
The qualifiers will be held in one round and team Yangon’s play-off match will be played away. Makassar is the top club in the Indonesian League, and Yangon United is likely to struggle.
Two Myanmar clubs are allowed to compete in the upcoming AFC Cup, and Myanmar National League defending champion Shan United will have to compete in the group stage. — Ko Nyi Lay/KZL
