The Indonesian Embassy in Yangon reported the successful rescue of 26 Indonesian citizens who were victims of trafficking in Myawady Township, Kayin State. Among the rescued were 21 men and five women, who were brought back to the Indonesian Embassy in Yangon under the care of the respective authorities.
Additionally, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia informed that nine Indonesian citizens, who had been trafficked to a company in Myawady Township, Kayin State, were safely repatriated to Indonesia through Bangkok, Thailand, on 26 June. Furthermore, in May, 25 other Indonesians who were victims of trafficking in Myawady were also successfully sent back home via Bangkok, as reported by The Reporter, a news agency based in Thailand. — TWA/MKKS
