The 71st Kaba Aye Pagoda Buddha Pujaniya festival will be held starting from 12th waxing day of Tabodwe in Mayangon Township, according to the Pagoda Board of Trustees.
At the pagoda festival, the Pathana reciting ceremony will be held from the 12th waxing day of Tabodwe to the 1st waning day of Tabodwe. The traditional “Htamane” making festival will also be organized at 8 am on the 12th waxing day of Tabodwe and the 13th waxing day.
Alms will be offered to the Buddha on the morning of the full moon day. In addition, the Buddha Anekaja (consecrating a Buddha’s image) and merit sharing ceremonies will be held with 11 members of Sayadaws led by Vice-Chairpersons of the State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee at 9 am on the 1st waning day of Tabodwe. — TWA/MKKS
