Union Minister Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung inspects development programmes in Taninthayi Region

Union Minister for Border Affairs Lt-Gen Tun Tun Naung conducted an inspection tour to Dawei to ensure border area and human resource development programmes being undertaken in Dawei, Palaw, Myeik and Kyunsu townships of Taninthayi Region on 29 April.
The Union Minister also inspected the concrete road paving operations, including bridge constructions in Yebyu Township of Dawei District, together with Commander of Coastal Region Command Maj-Gen Saw Than Hlaing, Region Administration Council Member (1) Colonel Kyaw Zeya and other officials. The respective site engineers clarified the operations, and the Union Minister left the necessary instructions.
The Ministry of Border Affairs makes an effort to develop inter-village road transportation and socio-economy by paving concrete roads and building bridges in Yebyu Township of Dawei District with K1069.716 million budget in 2020-2021 FY, and it completes about 75 per cent of operations. The Union Minister also visited Dawei-Launglon-Thayetchaung townships to check the drinking water distribution system on 30 April, and region municipal officials presented the current work plans.
The Union Minister then met the staff of the Taninthayi Region Development Supervisory Office and border youth development training centre (Dawei) and stressed the need to follow the civil service personnel law with full of loyalty to the country. The demonstrators should teach the physical and mental issues in addition to the subjects. He also highlighted the duties of demonstrators and inspected the training centre compound and construction work of staff housings.
The Union Minister and party also checked the gravel road paving operation on Madaw junction-Thabyupyin inter-village road in Nan Thila village-tract of Palaw township in Myeik District. He then inspected construction of Kan Zaw Taw embankment and the upgrade of the Aye Yeik Nyein dam in Kyunsu Township.
He also inspected earthen road paving operations and RC bridge construction in Kan Gyi village-tract of Kyunsu Township of Myeik District on 1 May. He met the staff of the Myeik District Development Supervisory Office and women’s vocational training school. — MNA
