MoALI holds meeting of vacant, fallow and virgin land management central committee

The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation held a meeting of the Vacant, Fallow and Virgin Land Management Central Committee on the application for the mining works yesterday afternoon in Nay Pyi Taw.
The meeting was attended by Vice Chairman of the VFV Land Management Central Committee Deputy Minister Dr Aung Gyi and officials from the Mining Department of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation.
The meeting discussed the opinions and remarks of the relevant ministries on the application for mining under the existing laws of the Vacant, Fallow and Virgin Land Management, crimes and punishments, mining and operation licence according to the Myanmar Mining Law and sample worksheets for mining applications.
After receiving the licence for mining operations on vacant, fallow and virgin lands, land tax exemption is granted for testing and feasibility studies. A five-year land tax exemption is granted for mining works.
The VFV Land Management Central Committee has been permitting operation on the vacant, fallow and virgin lands as per the existing laws in order to develop businesses, including agriculture and livestock farming, with the efficient use of the lands. – MNA
